After listening to the clients design brief, we studied the interior design of the buildings and took into consideration the fact that the plant displays needed to be able to with stand the massive volume of people that race course attracts.
The design we came up with was to have different colours of containers in different zones throughout the site. Some areas we choose modern sculptural planting with clean lined containers, where as in the more traditional areas of the complex, we used dark espresso containers with bonsai Ficus plants.
Built in troughs were used planted with
tropical plants that trailed throughout the atrium with tall Ficus Longifolia and exotic flowering Guzmania. Certain glazed areas have a high heat in the summer and low temperatures in the winter. To ensure a stunning display that would survive both weather conditions, we used tall kubix containers planted with thick stemmed branching Yucca which gave a fantastic overall plant display.
We sourced our containers from a specialist supplier in the UK with the tropical plants being selected and purchased from the Netherlands. The client requested the displays be installed before the Christmas events started with gave us only a week turn around. In most situations most companies would not be able to deliver in such a short time, but at Interior Plantscapes we embraced the opportunity and through our efficient ordering and our strong supplier relationships got the plant displays installed in time for the events.
