We worked along side main contractor Carillion Building services to design and build the scheme. The main issue was with the buildings being so tall the main planting are would see little direct light. However it would act as the main core of the complex and enhance the day to day commute of the tenants so it had to be instant.

We found in recent times the demand of clients is higher that ever, this one of company mission statements to for Interior Plantscapes to be a source of inspiration for instant gardening. All the plants had to be mature and look great from day one.

The biggest issue was how we could get 40 tonnes of top soil and 10 tonnes of bark into the raised planter with no direct access. We go around the issue by utilising the tower crane and a skip! The soil was lifted over the building hundreds of meters into the air and into the main core.

The back of planter we used 2.8m high pre grown Ivy green walls for instant effect, then in the front a selection of Tall planting, grasses and shrubs all of which are evergreen.

To finish off the scheme there is an outdoor smoking area for the tenants of the offices, this would give them shelter and designate the space. We have use black gloss tall barrier troughs 1.0m long by 80cm high planted with Pittosporums and long trailing Ivy.
